Forum Terms & Rules

Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.

The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this bulletin board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or deflamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violates any law. Nudity is not permitted on this forum.

You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board.

Forum Etiquette

TIPF is a place for discussion, learning, and for sharing information in a comfortable and easy-going environment. As with all forums however there are just a few basic guidelines that we should all follow.

Posting in the appropriate forum: Each forum category gives a brief description of the type of content it is designed for. If ever unsure of where to start a thread take a look at some of the ones already posted to get an idea.

Keeping on topic: Please do try and stay to the topic of the thread. If you want to raise a new and separate issue then consider whether a new topic is more appropriate.

Forums and chat rooms: Forums are different from chat rooms in that separate threads are required for individual topics. Also on forums it is not necessary to 'multiple post'. If you want to post something within a few minutes of a previous one made by yourself, and no-one else has posted since, you can edit the original.

Respect for others: When using the forum please be polite, mature, and keep your language clean. Even if you disagree, please respect the opinions of others and respond in an appropriate manner.

Members may edit their posts within 24 hours of posting. Premium Members may edit their posts at any time.

Posting Images

Members may post one image per Topic. The image must be no larger than 120kb in file size. Premium Members may post multiple images in a single topic with a maximum upload limit of 300kb. Please also make sure images are no larger than 800 pixels on the longest side, a suitable length is usually around 600 to 700 pixels. File size and image size limits are for the benefit of a smooth running forum, dial-up users, and those viewing the site on mobile devices. Flexibility in file size is allowed with images attached with IMG markers as this is not using TIPF's resources, but excessively large pictures will be removed.

A reminder: If the image takes more than a few seconds to load when using broadband, then the file size may be too large. And if you have to scroll the page to view the whole of the image, it is also probably too large!

There are two methods for displaying images, use whichever is most convenient:

1. You may upload an image stored on your computer by clicking the Browse button, and then click on Upload. When the image file is shown in the Manage Current Attachments box, click on the image to add into the post.

2. If your image is hosted somewhere on the internet, right click on the original image, click Properties, copy the Address:(URL) line and paste it in between {img} and {/img} on your thread, (replacing the curly {} with straight edge [] instead). Alternatively when creating your thread, click on the picture icon (with a picture of a tree), paste your image address there and click OK.
