Continuing the Best Of theme, it's time to scan your archives and post, what you consider to be your best shot of 2009.

I'm sure we all have at least one image we are particularly proud of, so share it with the rest of us and give a brief explanation of why it pleases you.

This is one of my favourite images of 2009, I just love the gorgeous colours and that reflection... and besides The Forest of Dean is my favourite walking place.

best of 2009? difficult. theres two pictures that i immediately think of, but they are completely different. one is a sunset, with my hubby and little boy in it, however, its been cropped quite a bit as the composition was completely off when i took the pic. thats why i have to go for this one:

I've had a pretty poor year, wrong place, right time and all that.
I did take a series of shots of some decaying boats on the Isle Of Mull, and it's this one that I keep coming back to. I even had it printed, which is another rarity.

This was taken in July. I love the energy and tension in the action; I love the lighting; I love the texture; I love the depth; and, of course, I love the subjects!

Hard choice to pick just one from a whole year.

I had been planning this shoot for ages, knew what I wanted and had the help of a couple of mates to get it. Everything was done 'in camera' using a long exposure and multiple fashes with almost no post production. It's been on the wall at work for months and I still like it - the best test of any shot.

I really didn't have a good year on taking images, but since getting my new camera later in the year, the new camera made a difference in the quality of the images and I have gotten out a bit more despite the hospital and bad times of health. So the ones I have to chose from are a bit limited and this is the only one I can guess is the best of last years bunch

This one, taken a year ago tomorrow (14/01) is one of my favourites.
2009 was a learning curve for me and I'm hoping this year I will capture better images.

Hell, what a task!
This is more of a personal choice, rather than that of, 'I wonder if this really is any good' I eventually chose this one of Penshaw Monument, near Sunderland, as I've driven past it for god knows how many years and decided to take a closer look! It's blimmin huge!

There are a few pictures I'm pleased with from 2009 but I think this close up shot of a face is my favourite:

Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park. Taken mid morning 09/09/09, shame I couldn't get there for dawn but a beautiful place all the same. Very calm morning, strange goldness in the rocks, ravens passing overhead, clear light all the way down the valley to Garden Wall and Mount Grinnell with the UFO shaped clouds hovering overhead.
